Start the trip in Bø and ride along RV36 toward Seljord. When you reach Øvrebø, you may consider turning onto Garvikvegen, but the best chance of spotting the sea serpent is if you continue straight ahead.

Turn right onto E134 and then onto Flatdalsvegen. On this road you will pass a fantastic viewpoint in Flatdal, where we would recommend taking a short stop - and maybe some photos?

The road will eventually rejoin the E134 in the direction of Notodden. Along the way, you pass idyllic small farms, beautiful scenery, Heddal Stave Church, and a few nice swimming spots if you feel tempted.

When you arrive in Notodden, it may be a good idea to take a short break and perhaps grab a bite to eat. Notodden has a rich cultural heritage and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so we recommend setting aside some time to explore the town.

Then ride back to Bø via Reshjemvegen. This is also a great road for motorcycle riding.

This trip usually takes 3–4 hours. Fill up the tank in Akkerhaugen and head toward Skien via Valebøvegen. There may not be much to see along Valebøvegen, but the road itself can be exciting enough. You also pass several nice swimming spots along the way.

You then ride through Skien and Porsgrunn. When you reach Eidanger, you can choose whether to ride a short stretch on the E18 or take Langangsvegen. We recommend riding Langangsvegen on the way back, as it features some fun curves in “the corkscrew.”

From Langangen, you ride via Mørjevegen down to Helgeroa. This is a very nice road for motorcycling. In Helgeroa, there are several good places to eat, and it’s not uncommon to strike up a conversation with other motorcyclists.

Ride the same way back to Akkerhaugen, but consider taking Rv36 from Skien if Valebøvegen doesn’t appeal to you.

This trip takes about 3.5 hours, but we recommend setting aside more time as there is a lot to see and do along the way. Fill up the tank in Gvarv and then head south toward Skien. Continue on to the European highway via Herre.

As soon as you reach the European highway, this trip really begins. From here, it’s all about enjoying winding roads and beautiful Norwegian nature. After riding the European highway for a short while, you enter the Old Southern Road, which only gets better and better as you cruise past small lakes, idyllic farms and even more stunning scenery.

After passing Helle, we recommend taking a detour to the charming coastal town of Kragerø. Here you can stroll along cozy cobblestone streets with small shops, art galleries and cafés. It’s also a perfect place to enjoy dinner, as there are countless restaurants to choose from.

The route then continues back via Drangedal. This is also a very enjoyable motorcycle road, with plenty of curves and beautiful scenery.

This is the tour for those who truly want to see what Telemark has to offer in terms of motorcycle roads. Ride from Bø and enjoy the view over Lake Seljord. Turn left upon reaching Seljord and continue along the E134 towards Høydalsmo.

From Høydalsmo, turn onto Eidsborgvegen, which leads down to Dalen via a series of beautiful hairpin bends. Here, we recommend stopping to visit Dalen Hotel. Often referred to as the “fairytale hotel,” Dalen Hotel is a spectacular building from the late 19th century and one of Norway’s largest wooden buildings.

When you are ready for more hairpin bends, continue along Skafsåvegen until you reach Vråliosen. From there, ride along Lake Vråvatn until you arrive in Vrådal.

In Vrådal, we recommend stopping by Straand Hotel. The hotel is a popular meeting place for motorcyclists, and it quickly becomes clear why if you step inside the reception area.

After even more beautiful scenery and hairpin bends, you arrive in Kviteseid. From here, ride up to Brunkeberg before returning to Bø via the E134 and RV36.
